Marlborough Airport Airside Security
The airside environment is a dangerous place for the untrained and uninitiated. Security access control to airside is an important part of everyone staying safe. Marlborough Aerodrome perimeter is fully fenced to international airport standards to prevent accidental entry and deter deliberate access to operational areas.
All persons entering airside areas must have appropriate identification and training. This will include AVSEC Airport Identity cards issued by the Aviation Security Service on behalf of the NZCAA (or Pilot’s licence for transient GA aircraft) plus, a safety and security induction from the Airport Operations team. Adequate personal protective equipment PPE must also be always worn airside including hi-vis apparel and hearing protection.
All passengers must be escorted and supervised on the apron at all times by a pilot or airline crew until they are safely inside the terminal or safely boarded onto the aircraft.
All staff working at the airport will undergo Safety Induction and complete Security Awareness Training before they are issued airside access security fobs by the operations team.
