Woodbourne Rescue and Fire Service
Through an agreement with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) we maintain a dedicated aviation Rescue Fire Service (RFS) of qualified and competent fire and rescue personnel, equipped with fit-for-purpose appliances and specialist equipment. The RFS conduct immediate rescue and crash response operations within the aerodrome boundary within three minutes of the crash alarm being raised, or in the immediate vicinity outside of Woodbourne boundary airfield (approximately 3 kms) in accordance with specified response time criteria.
The RFS provide a minimum of Category 5 and are available during the promulgated hours of ATC watch for all aircraft engaged in scheduled Air Transport Operations of 30 seats and above.
