Marlborough Airport has a single on-site car park, using ticketless License Plate Recognition for entry/exit.

Parking is payable on departure at the pay stations.

There are two payment machines, one in the baggage claim area, which takes credit, debit and Eftpos cards, and one in the kiosk in the car park, which takes credit, debit, Eftpos and cash. Enter the vehicle License Plate number into the machine and the amount payable will appear on the screen.

After payment is made, the exit barrier will automatically open when the vehicle approaches the exit lane.

Parking charges

The public car park is conveniently located near the main terminal building.

Drop off area - Two minutes only

There is an area directly in front of the terminal to drop off passengers or baggage before using the car park or leaving the airport. Vehicles must not be left unattended in the drop off area.

Security cameras are in use and the car parks are monitored for overstaying or for parking in car parks not designated for public use. Offending vehicles may be towed away at the vehicle owner's expense.

Ticketless parking

Marlborough Airport has introduced a new licence plate recognition system so people parking at the airport no longer need to use paper tickets to pay as they leave. Introduced on Tuesday 20 September, the system is a lot more user-friendly and provides a better experience for people parking at the airport

As people enter the carpark the new system will read the vehicle licence plate and the gate will open. At the completion of their stay, prior to leaving the carpark, drivers simply enter their license plate number into one of the parking machines and pay for their stay using cash or card. When leaving the carpark, the exit gate will recognise payment has been made and the barrier will lift automatically.

If customers forget to pay at one of the machines there is also an option to pay at the exit gate using paywave or credit card however no receipt will be issued.

Parking fees remain the same and the new system also allows for 30 minutes free parking in the main carpark and part-day charging which will result in savings for some people.
